The Ambarawa railway museum was established much later on October 16, 1976 in the Ambarawa station to preserve the steam locomotive. II. ANSWER THE QUESTIONS

Study groups are commonly utilized by many student to prepare themselves for class discussions, examinations, or class presentation. They can also make use of it to review their weak points and learn new ideas. I myself find that we can learn more effectively in a study group. However, I can’t deny that study group have also some disadvantages.

On the positive side a study groups gives the students motivation to study and update their readings because other members likely give them encouragement. It also helps them to learn new ideas as well as important points they missed on their readings so I could also share something.

On the other hand, the disadvantage of a study group is the part of compelling the student to attend it after class or during their free time. Commitment among each member is also an important aspect in a study group.

Hence, the members of a study group to set aside other activities to study together. To Join a study group or not is the student’s own choice, because there are other students who learn better when they do it on their own. If student thinks he/she will be learning effectively in group, he/she had better go on and enjoy the fun way of learning.

The sense of taste is one of a person’s five senses. We taste with the help of taste-buds in the tongue.

There are four main kinds of taste: sweet, sour, salty, and bitter. All other tastes are just mixtures of two or more of these main types.

The surface of the tongue has more than fifteen thousand taste-buds (or cells). These are connected to the brain by special nerves which send the so-called ‘tastes messages.

When the tongue comes into contact with food of any kind, the taste-buds will pick up the taste. The nerves then send a message to the brain. This will make us aware of the taste. All this happens in just a few seconds.

There are four kinds of taste-buds, each of which is sensitive to only a particular taste. These four groups are located in different parts of the tongue.

The taste-buds for salty and sweet tastes are found round the tip of the tongue and along its sides. Sour tastes can be picked up only at the sides of the tongue. The taste-buds of the bitter taste are found at the innermost edge of the tongue. There are taste-buds at the centre of the tongue.

The senses of smell and sight can affect taste. The good smell of food increases its taste. Similarly, attractive colours can make food appear tastier and more delicious. If food does not smell good or is dull-coloured, it will look tasty and may not taste good at all.

Very hot or cold sensations can make the taste-buds insensitive. Food that is too hot or too cold, when placed in the mouth, will have no tastes at all.

Latihan PAT XI 2018-2019

Text 1
A  natural disaster is a terrible accident, e.g. a great flood, a big fire or an earthquake. It usually causes great suffering and loss of a large sum of money. The casualties are injured or died. Some people are homeless and need medical care.
Floods occur when the water of rivers, lakes, or streams overflow their banks and pour onto the surrounding land. Floods are caused by many different things. Often heavy rainstorms that last for a brief can cause a flood. But not all heavy storms are followed by flooding. If the surrounding land is flat and can absorb the water, no flooding will occur. If, however, the land is hard and rocky, heavy rain cannot be absorbed. Where the banks are low, a river may overflow and flood adjacent lowland.
In many part of the world flood are caused by tropical storms called hurricanes or typhoons. They bring destructive winds of high speed, torrents of rain, and flooding. When a flood occurs, the destruction to surrounding land can be severe. Whole villages and towns are sometimes swept away by water pouring swiftly over the land. Railroad track blocked and uprooted from their beds. Highways are washed away.
When a building caught fire, the firemen pitched in to help battle the blaze. Before the pumps were invented, people formed bucket brigades to fight fires. Standing side by side, they formed a human chain from the fire to nearby well or river. They passed buckets of water from to hand to be poured on the flames.
The damage of the fire did depend a great deal on where it happened. In the country or a small village, only a single house might burn down. But in crowded cities, fire often destroyed whole blocks and neighborhoods before being controlled. (Soal UN SMA/MA IPA 2011/2012)

Nikka Costa - First Love

Everyone can see
There's a change in me
They all say
I'm not the same kid I used to be

Don't go out and play
I just dream all day
They don't know what's wrong with me
And I'm too shy to say

It's my first love
What I'm dreaming of
When I go to bed
When I lay my head upon my pillow
Don't know what to do
My first love

Thinks that I'm too young
He doesn't even know
Wish that I could show him what I'm feeling
Cause I'm feeling my first love

Mirror on the wall
Does he care at all?
Will he ever notice me
Could he ever fall?

Tell me, teddy bear
Why love is so unfair
Will I ever find a way
And answer to my pray

It's my first love
What I dreaming of
When I go to bed
When I lay my head upon my pillow
Don't know what to do

My first love
Thinks that I'm too young
He doesn't even know
Wish that I could show him what I'm feeling
Cause I'm feeling my first love
My first love

Mobile Phone
A mobile phone is a very small portable radio telephone. The mobile phone can be used to communicate over long distances without wires. It works by communicating with a nearby base station which connects it to the main phone network. The network is the company that provides the phone service. In most areas, there will be more than one mobile network. Customers choose networks based on how well the different networks work in their area, or by price.
There are different kinds of phones. A flip phone flips open, and is best for calling. A bar phone is shaped like a candy bar, and the keys and screen are on one face. A slate phone is a phone that has almost no buttons, and uses a touch screen. Most smartphones are slates. A slider phone slides on rails. It can slide out number keys or a mini keyboard, but some do both. Some digital mobile phones need a separate microchip, called a Subscriber: identity Module or SIM, to work. The SIM has information like the phone number and payment account and this is needed to make or receive calls.
A majority of new mobile phones from the 21" century are smartphones. These phones can be used for email, browsing the internet, playing music and games, and many other functions that computers can perform. This is because mobile phones basically are small computers. Text 3
William Shakespeare (1564-1616)
Shakespeare is considered to be the greatest English dramatist of all time. His work influenced generations of later artists.
We know little about Shakespeare's early years. His father, John Shakespeare, was a merchant and a man of some importance in his local community. His mother, Mary Arden, was a higher social class. Although there are no records, it seems that Shakespeare attended the local grammar school at Stratfordupon Avon, where he was born. in 1582, Shakespeare married Anna Hathaway, who was eight years older than him. They had three children. In 1594, Shakespeare became a leading member of the newly-fanned acting company, the Lord Chamberlain’s Men. This company became the King’s Men when James I became a king. Shakespeare stayed with them for the rest of his career. In 1599, the company occupied the now famous Globe theatre in London. Shakespeare lived and worked in London, while his family remained in Stratford. Shakespeare’s plays are still performed more often than those of any other playwright.
